Children's Online Privacy

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA) was passed by congress to allow parents/guardians full control and authority to dictate what a website can or cannot collect when it applies to children’s personal identifiable information. This Rule has been in place since 2000 and requires website to provide parents/guardians with direct notice with a request for consent if the website collects and maintains children’s data. The Rule applies to operators such as Carter Bank and the online services we offer.

Carter Bank abides by the COPPA Rule’s laws and regulations and does not collect or maintain any personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. The Bank prioritizes the importance of protecting children’s privacy by complying with COPPA’s restrictions of collecting, retaining, and using children’s data without parental consent.

The COPPA Rule applies to all forums of online and digital services, such as our website and digital banking platforms (Carter on the Go). The Bank does not direct their content and promotional material to children under the age of 13 and all content is intended for the adult audience.

If at any time you or someone has concerns about material on our website or potential harm to a child, please contact Carter Bank with these concerns so that we can address and work towards protecting children.
